The New Jerusalem

A Purified and Unified Holy Roman Catholic Church

Our Mission

Make Catholics of All Nations

The New Jerusalem is a fellowship of men and women united by a single mission: to make Catholics of all nations. We gather in small groups — in parishes, homes, and online — to walk the 12 Steps together, rooted in the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church.

Our meetings are open to any Catholic seeking freedom from sin, addiction, or any attachment that has become unmanageable. Each meeting follows a simple liturgy — the Hail Mary, the Preamble, the Steps, the Ten Commandments, open sharing, and the Lord's Prayer.

Step XII sends us outward: "Go, therefore, and make Catholics of all nations." Every step we take inward — toward healing, toward the Sacraments, toward Christ — prepares us to carry that mission into the world.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Matthew 18:20

The Program

Twelve Steps.
One Church.

The New Jerusalem steps are not generic spirituality. They are anchored in the specific Sacraments and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Step I

Admit I AM attached to X

Acknowledge that we are attached to something that keeps us from God.

Step II

Believe in the Eucharist

Come to believe in the Real Presence of Christ.

Step III

Turn to the Holy Spirit

Surrender our will and our life to God's care.

Step IV

Inventory of Resentments

Make a searching and fearless moral inventory.

Step V

Share & Forgive

Admit our wrongs to God, ourselves, and another person.

Step VI

List Those We've Harmed

Become willing to make amends to all persons harmed.

The Foundation

Come to Believe
in the Eucharist

Step II of the program asks each member to come to believe in the Real Presence — not as a theological abstraction, but as the living center of a daily practice of death and rebirth.

The Eucharist is not a symbol. It is the flesh of Christ — as the earliest Christians believed, as Ignatius of Antioch wrote in A.D. 107, as the Church has taught for two thousand years.

"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day."

— John 6:54
